Discover what teaching skills would be best suited for you to bring into your new Virtual Assistant business
Hey bestie!
I was in the classroom for 5.5 years before taking the leap into Virtual Assistance. Now, I’m sharing my story + helping others make the transition themselves.
Take your skills beyond the school walls and into the world of Virtual Assistance. It was THE BEST move I made, and it can be yours too!
Transiting from the classroom to a full-time Virtual Assistant and entrepreneur has been quite the journey. As I began building my business, I realized that there was SO MUCH to learn as an entrepreneur, and, because I’m a Millennial to my core, I turned to podcasts to help answer my unresolved questions.
Podcasts have always been my go-to resource for life, business, and relationships. I love to learn from other people, especially those who are further along in their career/journey than I am, and apply those teachings and lessons to my life. As a new business owner in 2022, I wanted to get my hands on every free resource that I could, and podcasts were among the few resources that I cycled through consistently.
Whether you’re just starting as a business owner or have been in the game for a while, I’m confident that you’ll find value in one or all of my recommended podcasts for entrepreneurs.
Grab your headphones and cue up Spotify. Here are five podcasts for female entrepreneurs.
A cult classic for a reason. I love How I Built This because I get to learn from some of the best in the business.
Description: “Guy Raz interviews the world’s best-known entrepreneurs to learn how they built their iconic brands. In each episode, founders reveal deep, intimate moments of doubt and failure, and share insights on their eventual success. How I Built This is a master class on innovation, creativity, leadership and how to navigate challenges of all kinds.”
An episode I love: Drunk Elephant | Tiffany Masterson
As a woman in business, I love hearing directly from other female founders. Startups in Stilettos, a brainchild of the Entreprenista League, is a great resource for women in all different phases of their entrepreneurial journey.
Description: “Each week, we’ll interview a startup founder in our community to uncover their early challenges, learn from the solutions they’ve found, make new connections, and strategize for the future growth of their business.” (Entreprenista.com)
An episode I love: How to Avoid Legal Challenges with Lauren Bercuson
Amy Porterfield is a huge inspiration of mine in the online business world. She’s successful and relatable and makes otherwise confusing information easy to digest and understand. If you’re interested in selling a course, she’s a great resource.
Description: “Ever wish you had a business mentor with over a decade of experience whispering success secrets in your ear? That’s exactly what you’ll get when you tune into the top-ranked Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast with your host, 9 to 5er turned CEO of a multi-million dollar business & NY Times Best Selling Author, Amy Porterfield. Her specialty? Breaking down big ideas and strategies into actionable step-by-step processes designed to get you results with a whole lot less stress.”
An episode I love: You Deserve More Than a Summer Friday
I’m a huge believer in financial literacy, especially as a woman. I love Tori’s take on money and her desire to change the narrative around women and money. She’s an absolute powerhouse and hosts must-listen podcasts for female entrepreneurs.
Description: “Join money expert Tori Dunlap as she guides you on how to make more, spend less, and feel financially confident in a world run by rich white men. Through solo episodes and special guest interviews, you’ll walk away with resources to get, save, and grow money to gain financial freedom and kick some patriarchal ass at the same time.”
An episode I love: “How I’m Changing my Money Habits in My 30s”
Remember when I said I loved hearing people’s stories? This is one of my FAVORITE podcasts for that very reason. People get deep on this platform, and I love it.
Description: “A few years ago I was a broke, university dropout, at 18 I built an industry leading social media marketing company, and at 27 I resigned as CEO. At 28 I co-founded Flight Story – a marketing and communications company, and thirdweb – a software platform, making it easy to build web3 applications. I then launched private equity fund, Flight Fund, to accelerate the next generation of European unicorns. During this time I decided to launch ‘The Diary Of A CEO’ podcast with the simple mission of providing an unfiltered journey into the remarkable stories and untold dimensions of the world’s most influential people, experts and thinkers.”
An episode I love: Moment 170: The Scientific Method for Unstoppable Confidence
Entrepreneurship can be overwhelming, but resources like free pod episodes can make this journey feel a little less siloed and confusing. So, I hope you listen to one of my must-listen-to podcasts for female entrepreneurs and feel inspired!
